If you have ever suffered from ringing in the ears, you may have be told that it is not curable. While this maybe true in some cases it doesn't apply to everyone. There are some simple things you can do for some much needed tinnitus relief - here are my top 3 tips to ease the ringing in your ears.
Antibiotics
Antibiotics are often prescribed by doctors to treat tinnitus, since it can be caused by an ear infection or hard wax blocking the ear. This is one of the most common ways to relieve tinnitus but of course there are more extreme cases where this will not work.
Alternative therapy and medicine
Traditional medicine has not been overly effective in helping to treat tinnitus. For this reason, many people have turned to alternative medicines and some have reported great success in relieving it or the distress it can cause.
Relaxation techniques such as Yoga, meditation, acupuncture and hypnosis all promote a sense of wellbeing and relaxation.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (or CBT) is often used in cases where tinnitus has been caused by depression or anxiety. CBT examines unwanted thoughts and general attitudes and tries to adjust them accordingly. This has had mixed success amongst patients although there is no dbout that the attitude you take towards your tinnitus is very important.
Besides all of these howver there are a lot more you can do in order to relieve the ringing in yours ears. A positive attitude will always help you in the long run, but if you hve suffered from tinnitus for any length of time it is important to remember that although it may not be cureable there are ways of making it bearable. It helps to try to understand why you are suffering in the first place as the action required to cure you will depend on this.
